Your procedure is correct. After all things are done at HCMC, you still need to submit the documents to the People's Committee of your wife-to-be province. Both your wife and yourself will need to go through interviews individually, so make sure your statements are consistent. Why don't you engage an agent to help you? It will make life much easier.

Regarding the point (4) above, is it ok to ask Vietnam Embassy in Singapore for translation of the certificate to Vietnamese?

Lastly, I need to know the answers to the following questions:

1. Do I need to go to Singapore Embassy in HCMC, Vietnam for the single marital status certificate to be legalized?

2. Beside the single marital status certificate, do I need to bring Singapore birth certificate as well?

3. Any other necessary documents?

My wedding there was more than 10 years ago, couldn't remember the exact finest details. Get an agent to help you, you cannot get things done even if you know the procedures and can speak tieng viet. That's Vietnam, not singapore .

Translation in Vietnam is way more cheaper than in Singapore ... For official translation go to Phong Tu Phap at HCMC District 1. It's sgd $50 per document versus 50,000vnd per document ... It's your choice. I have translated 3 copies each for 5 documents n it cost me less than sgd $30

Next , there are many things that don't require exact answer ... If u think any of the the documents are needed ... Just get it prepare n translated ... It's only good for you ...

If u already legalized ur documents in Singapore , why is there a need to legalized it again in Singapore high commission at HCMC ? Thinking back, it don't really make sense right ?

Like bro SV said, get an agent to help you ... But marrying there gona take ages unless u prepare to pay ... The wife's cousin married a China Chinese, heard he pay about usd$500 to short cut the process to get married in Vn .. So be prepared ...

That's the only stuff I can shared as some of it you have the answer n besides I never get married in Vn n seriously not many people here married in Vn coz it's way too troublesome ..

Last but not least, the best recommendation for u is to get married here n than get ur marriage Recognised in Vn, a much more easier process ...

Fellow fathers,

anyone went vn to buy diapers and formula milk back to Singapore? I just back from vn. The diapers are pretty cheap, huggies pull-up 44s only sgd$10 while Friso FM for export is less than 30. I bought some to try if good next time go back whack more back.:D

Tried huggies from vn... Very thin and don't absorb well. No good.
What is friso FM? Equal friso 1 in sillypore?

Tried friso 1 from malaysia... Baby not use to it so stick to sillypore version at $44 900g.
Now changed to similac 2 because baby no like friso liao...

A 26yo vb asked me and my bx whether got sillypore guy to intro her and married

Criteria
1) no need young... Old also nevermind
2) no need be rich
3) must let her continue work in ktv to earn money to take care her family in vn.

I thought she ask for some kind of false marriage but she say no.. she want a real sillyporean husband but must be willing to let her work and sometime go ks to earn.
She still can quote example of a few sisters with loving sillypore husband who let them work :confused::eek:
