Can I ask a question here, how much you give to ur Vietnam wife.

I have a Vietnam wife, I don't give here much cause she is working as a hawker assistant, and she send money home of what she earn.

And she ask me before, she can don't work but I have to give her 2k a month

How much she earns as a hawker assistance and why 2k per month?? She intents to feed the whole village? Lion opens its big mouth.

Personally, I will let her continue to work, keep herself busy. If she stops work, she has nothing to do whole day and after months she becomes lazy. Soon ask her work, she will give excuses... then she will mix with those good for nothing friends and more trouble will be heading your way.

not entitled to workfare claim...which most hawker or cleaners will claim...but if she not singaporean then she dun get anyway...:)

She earn around plus some money from me total 2.5k

She did say 2k, she will give to her mom some, cause she need to see doctor every month.

Ya I told her to work and don think too much of 2k and work more. Lol

Guess your wife earns about 1k as hawker asst. If more, then something is not right :D and you give her another 1k plus. U are very generous. :D

I always mention in this forum, be smart and manage ppl's expectation. Back in the village, the family dun have to work, will only eat, sleep and expect end of the month another about 2k. 2k in Vietnam is big money. Even my parents dun need 2k per month in Singapore.

They will spend and get use to this kind of luxury monthly. One fine day, u tell them u can only give 500, see how the whole family turns upside down, complains and how your wife quarrels with you.

Tell your wife, u need to save up for future and reasons to cut down sending too much money over. If she is smart and understanding, she will do it. Guess she also know how much is actually needed in Vietnam.

Unless u telling us, u earn about 10k per month then sending 2k plus is a peanut to u.

hawker assistance can be a few categories...

1) asst chief cook
2) long working hours
3) special dishes she prepared that can sell well
4) owner love her very much and cannot survive without her
5) any other factors which she is very important person

above is my assumption and opinion...dun mean to harm anybody...learning from ppl who shared with me...my neighbour used to earn 2.5k as a asst bakery because she helps to bake cakes and put in many hours...only off once per week...she had since followed his son to the USA...so quit...:)
