I share the same sentiments with you bro... Viet Gals are 1 of the best in this planet but alot of challenging part when comes to tame or understanding them completely.. nowadays they also learn how to upgrades their fishing skills and tactics although some parts are still remained the same.. indeed very challenging...

Just treat each experience as a learning curve. Same as working life, each step up the corporate ladder makes you rethink your position...

The more you see, the more you get immune to it similar to anti bodies created

Sometimes now i just ignore what some vb talk to me or act blur and pretend i don't understand their language. That's when the real fun start where they start talking about their true feelings....

Understanding them is impossible without knowing their language and going to see for yourself Vietnam. I no expert but have learnt from talking to the seniors here and experienced myself.

when dealing with VB...best let relationship lasts more than 2 years...my observations many relationships cannot last longer than 6 months...:)

a person marriage is fated....whether your wife turns out good or bad is karma of your parents and your previous life...:)

Fully agreed with your theory. Have dished out to all my friends on it especially a few heroes who just want to jump in and show hand...

followed your style...advise as much as they can stomach and let them make the choice of listening or digging their own grave

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

I made 16 trips to VN, starting from 1991 till 2 years ago. I am still amazed by the land and her people today as I was 23 years ago. In my first trip to HCMC, the city had just open up to the rest of the world under the doi moi open door market oriented policy. On the street you can still see rural people shitting in the bushes in plain sight, and everywhere. Banh Mi can be have for as little as 200 dong on the street then. I bought soviet watches and like everyone, make trips to central market while being trail by pickpocketers and secret police.

The average income then was about $20 a month. So it is little wonder my company can put many on the payroll. At that time, the Korean n the Taiwanese were ahead of us silly-porean in the foriegn investment game to finance the modernization of VN.

Then, the object of envy is the Honda Dream motorbike. It is common for youth to pick up the girls on their bikes on a Friday night. (To be continued)

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

My take is this:

Try not to stereotype a VN girl. There money grabbers and there are money grabbers. Yet, there some potential goody two shoes. Don't throw the baby with the bath water, simply because there are far too many negative cases. Many times, it is merely an problem of a self-fulfilled prophecy. Or maybe we are looking for love at all the wrong places. Relying on statistic alone is NOT the best to properly describe a people group. What do I mean? People from the north and south are totally different. They have different cultures, food and even languages.

In the past, because of nationalistic and other integration policies, ethic and minority people are disallowed to learn their own languages, let alone speak them. For example my ex is from a long lost thai people group whose grandfather can read and write ancient thai but generations which follows cannot. Decades ago it is not uncommon for southern Vietnamese to undergo re-education program in order to reverse a pluralistic divided country. Not every Vietnamese is the same. If you are in Cholon district, the ethnic chinese there are different in behaviors as compared to a person of say Khmer origin living in Duc Lat.

My point is ? Not every Vietnamese is the same. Should we discount Samsters' own experiences? Never. Although everyone has a story, not all story is the representative of a people group. Therefore take everything shared with a pinch of salt. The best way to go about it is with our eyes open, share intel and experience a relationship ourselves with a balance world view.
