Already set up a retirement spot in Johor near Peter Lim Vantage medical hub. May set up another retirement spot in HCM.

I wonder is it worthwhile to do medical and dental checkup in HCM?

Personally speaking, Viet medical is not that good. It was because of their delay and inexperience in dealing with my condition that left me permanently disabled now. If i could get back to Singapore earlier, i may not have been disabled. With insurance coverage, medical cost in Singapore is still manageable. I will choose Johor over HCM for retirement and lower medical cost. I will never want to experience medical treatment again in HCM in the future.

Thank you for sharing such personal information.

The medical hub will be headed by doctors from Singapore Thomson Medical, hence I bought some condos around that facilities for my parents and myself.

Was thinking about retiring in Johor in 2012-2013; until one fine day my cheong khaki recommend H88 to me and we go HCM for tour.

From then onward I start liking HCM a lot. I felt at home in HCM and getting girls is never a problem at all. Every trip I go; there are potential gfs or confirmed gf waiting.

Such a liberal thinking of locals girls that brew my mind.

Great mind thinks alike. Have known your sifu since end 2010 but consulted him not many times. If ever he had known I have bought a house in vn he would have stopped me. Never the less, could be a blessing in disguise, yet to know, there are ups and downs in our life cycle, so be it.

Iskandar Malaysia is still developing and it will take quite some time for the facilities and activities to come up. I have also bought a detached bungalow at Horizon Hills, but i bought it with an idea for long term investment. Rental will be tough too there. Properties investments is better in Singapore. With the property correction now, its a good time to buy. Properties in HCM is still down after these few years. My apartment in Phu My Hung is collecting dust there, without rental income. Property agent wasn't able to get me a tenant for quite some time already.

Prefer commercial units in Singapore currently as it is yet to move. Personally vested.

My Iskandar condo is call Astaka. I prefer big size condo.

Thinking of buying a super PentHouse in HCM. As I am use to big living area. So far I have KIV my search as I estimate another drop in HCM. Will enter in 2016-2018.

Agreed, some vnese need to be slapped but to a certain extend. I had tested on some vb not slapping but telling (Shouting) them off in public area. Once, I feel like wanted to hit one vb, in the end, the vb say sorry and become would say she love you u more.

Government Hospital in Vn CMI unless you go to Private Hospital. Most of the Government Hospital doctors I find them do not qualify to be a doctor. Once, a vb had sorethroat and her throat got a inflammation. The doctor told her she need a operation. I ask the vb to go a better hospital and the doctor diagnose she is suffering from Chicken pox only.

I thought recently there is a new regulation in Malaysia for buying properties in Malaysia. If you are going to sell it after a few years, certain % of you sale amount need to be tax and the tax is at high as 30%. Hear this info from a MY frd

There's property gains tax if you sell it within the first 5 years. Minimum investment sum is also RM$1m , unless you buy Medini. I don't forsee myself selling that house within 5 years.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

Just sell after 5 years of your purchase date. I bought in 2012-2013; just sell after 2018 will do. Anyway I project my condo to be ready only by 2017. So the timing is ok.
My plan is to sell 3 away and I get enough profit to pay off last one. (hence FOC condo in JB)

Medini zone not affected by any curb or restriction.

Currently HCM don't allowed foreign direct ownership unless you work there or buy with your Vietnam wife. But this ruling look likely to change soon.

I estimate 2-3 years after VN go thru some killing deflation. (ask most anyone in HCM now; most of them pocket no money.)

If after 2-3 years; VN land and property law still unchanged...... it may be right time to buy Singapore again. Not worry cannot buy in HCM; worry money not enough.

Collect rent in Singapore and retire in HCM may be the better move......

i have reduce amount to 400 Usd so that my apt at Sky Garden can be rent out and no need to keep on looking for tenants when exsisting leave for better option...

yes...Viet medical sucks big time...majority of the doctors are usless and yet arrogant...

son of my friend's landlord had his right eye poke by a stick due to an accident...went to hospital and the docs say nothing can be help...will get blind..

the landlord does not accept the fact and send his son over to Singapore for consultation...Specialist say that his son would really have gone blind if delay by 3-4 more days...spend abt $30k and got his right eye healed.

for me,i always wait until my trip back to Singapore then will have my medical check up...although its much more expensive...but i seriously cant even trust those docs in the private hospital...:(
