I for one can't understand why folks can invest in iskandar hype. Its a one way ticket. If wish to invest invest in Kl or Penang, where the locals invest. LKY already warned people and how often is that guy wrong? This is just some spin created by developers and the sultan there to milk Singaporeans. Once milk dry the worms will all come out. Get out while you can!

In every investment, there will be different point of views. You may be right to your understanding and others may be right to theirs. For example, when i invested in the villa at KDC Trung Son , HCM City , many years ago, some called me crazy as its far in Binh Chanh. Phu My Hung Q7 was only just coming up and the whole place there around Nguyen Van Linh was deserted. But eventually, it turned out well for me. Same thing happened in 2008 in Singapore when i invested in a 99 year leasehold corner terrace house in Loyang, i see the potential while most don't. 3 years and its a 70% appreciation in value.

Singapore Government and related companies are the biggest investors in Iskandar and i am sure they have their own agenda. Other big established Singapore private schools like MDIS and Raffles University are also there. UK Universities like University of Reading is there too. I have my plans for my investment there and it is going to be mid to long term. To be true, if one is looking for rental income from investing in Iskandar, its really tough. The good thing is that its close to Singapore and i can pop over for a relaxing weekend anytime . The offer of space is not what we can get in Singapore. To each their own, i invested and i do hope that it will turn out well. If in any instance it doesn't, i just take it as a lesson learnt.

Personally I feel sg still command higher rental return compare to other country like Vietnam or Cambodia.Even owning a HDB unit and collecting rental is much more higher compare to collecting rental there.

Invest or not is depends on individual holding power but to buy and treat it as a 'chalet' is indeed good to consider especially one have the intention to retire oversea:D

Still remember my visit to a govertment hospital there,saw long q of pregnant woman waiting to enter a room to see doctor or nurse but no seat for them.

Yes is cheap over there but service sucks,one incident I encounter is the doctor don't numb the body before conducting a minor surgery.In short they just do what they have to do and whether the patient pain or not is non of their business

Totally agreed and that is why vb know and keep on attacking sinkee man.They are much more tougher cos they are bring up in a tough environment.Sg man is only for them to gain certain agenda they want like residential status or employment.

Recently heard from a VB that the place she is staying,a hdb 3 room flat,was rent out to 10 plus wl who come sg to work.Imagine a old 3 room flat with only 2 rooms inside but full with so many girls.She told me that female owner a viet was staying in one room with her daughter.Never saw any man or her sg husband around.

Either that sg man is no longer together with her or helping her in this business.Imagine that small girl grown up in this kind of environment,most viet woman don't really care about how their children is bring up or maybe they are grown up this way so they think is ok.

Collecting good money every month is more important than her daughter living environment,this is what I can say

Remember few weeks ago,i read about a news report about Hcm hospital.One picture show a very posh lobby with not much people.Funny thing is the govertment there still want to build more international standard hospital to reduce the rich people money from flowing out to places like Singapore to seek treatment as most rich people don't have the confidence of doctors there.

End of the day.one can build a very big or posh hospital but is those doctors who work there that count.Is the same as property,one can build very posh condo but if the investment condition is not good for investor,it still become a white elephant.

This is the problem with normal Viets who hails from the villages. Education is not on their list of priorities in life. Let the daughter study until Year 8 or 10, then ask her go out and work. Mother will retire by age if 40 or 45 . This is the vicious cycle of poverty. Forever their children will be involved in vice activities.

Most of their doctors are either trained locally or in Russia. To quote an example. My wife gave birth to my twins in a private hospital in HCM around 10 years ago by C-Section. 5 years later when she did the same at Gleneagles Hospital Singapore to deliver my boy , the doctor took a long time in the operating theater. After the gynae came out, i asked her why took so long, she told me its very `messy' inside as the last C-section my wife did in HCM, the gynae there didn't do a proper job. So the gynae in Singapore got to `tidy it up'.

This is the type of medical skills you can expect from the doctors in Vietnam and the viet gyane that operated on my wife 10 years ago was even a PhD Doctor. :eek:

You must study the investment yourself.

I wonder how am I been milk dry, when I bought Sky88 at RM780 2 years ago.... And it is value RM1450 today.

Haha,the most memorable one was when I went there marry.U must be certified mentally sound then can marry there.
Went to a mental local hospital,sat with my bx in front of a female doctor,that doctor cant speak English so is only my bx communicate with her.No question ask to me and I was certified mentally all right to marry cos uncle ho certified I am not crazy but not that doctor:eek::D

Aiyo.... VB only love money.

Need some time to see and feel the "true love".

However VBs are short sighted..... always screw up before anything can bare fruit.
