Xujiahui is an expensive place. You may stay in Xinzhuang (莘庄) area, which is in the outskirt yet still quite close to the city center, as well as to your working place.

alternatively can try stay around Hongqiao? More expats and more entertainment, easy to find food also.. got carrefour as well.

You might like to consider staying in minhang itself or its neighboring xuhui, xujiahui is very crowded and popular with the young, local and migrants alike. It is like a gate way where the suburbs enters into the city. Lots of restarants ( huaihai) , pubs in huashan lu in the city direction but you have to consider the jam but its more of into the city rather than away. Not so in minhang.

As promised I went out to recce just now and found a great sauna place.
This place has just opened in May this year so it is very new. The rates are RMB700 and RMB900 for 70 minutes. RMB900 is the rate for models. Anyway, they showed me about 10 girls and I selected one RMB700 because she has huge tits. The service is very good maybe because it is still very new. I chose gal no. 17 from Yunnan. After I finished, I saw about 20girls on my way out. They serve free drinks and food as well. The place is clean and new. They have the locker in individual room so good privacy. The gal also asked me if I want 2 gals with an additional RMB400 but I declined. Anyway for 2 gals at RMB1,100 in Shanghai is a steal. Like Arnold said, I'll Be Back!!!

Which Howard Johnson are you staying? If you are at Yan An West Road, it is only 20 minutes away. Cab fare should be less than RMB30. The rate is RMB700 inclusive of FJ. No other hidden costs. If you prefer the taller models, they are at RMB900.
