Nice boss. It's good that you allow more honest reviews to be post now.

This forum used to be a good platform for samsters to source for good FL. These days reviews had gone so bad that I do not want to believe in the reviews here as most are made up by OKT. I believe many samsters felt so as well.

To the OKT, please up your standard and weed out those FLs that are not doing the job properly and have fake pics. You are not just here to advert and collect advert fees from them. There much be some reputation that samsters have entrust you upon.

And samsters, let's be fair and up and give points to the OKTs their repution if they are good to maintain a good stable of FLs that can work or of quanlity. :D Let's play a part to have this a good platform to share FRs and waste not time and effort to scout for good FL...:cool:

Nowadays surfing SBF keeps me from going senile as I need to use my brain power quite a bit everytime when reading a FR in order to ascertain it's credibility and authenticity. A certain amount of cyber CSI is almost a must these days as well.

So much so until I've grown weary and scaled down drastically on my commercial activities already.

The main reason why SBF could be so successful is because of the huge amount of participants (both the members and unregistered guests) that it had built up over the years. Advertisers and paying members are then attracted to this pool of prospective customers. However the very reason that built up this pool of citizens (relative free speech and right to share genuine info as opposed to utmost consideration towards advertisers only) has slowly been erroded during the past few years.

It only require the emergence of another similar forum which embraces the value mention above in order to slowly render SBF irrelevant.

Sad to see the incumbent turning his back on the very value and people that built this forum up.

But that's life for there is no Superman/Spiderman/Batman nor Ultraman in this world. :o

In an ideal world, I'd keep the forum advert free and continue the spirit of free speech which the forum started off with.

The problem though is that I lost more than USD150,000 in the process of building up the traffic. The overheads went from $200 per month to $5000 per month as more and more resources had to be poured into keeping the forum going.

In the end I decided that I either shut it down or take steps to commercialize the forum because it did not make sense to lose money every month even though I treated the forum as a hobby rather than a money making concern.

I therefore leased out the FL sections in order to pay the bills. When something is leased out, of course you have to give up control.

Then the gambling boom started and things were looking good as more and more income came from gambling ads and this helped diversify the revenue sources. Sadly the government clamped down on all on line gambling and all the advertisers disappeared and this left a huge hole in the finances.

Any forum that tries to do what I did will face the same issues at some point in time.

To be honest I never wanted the FLs in this forum. I started so that people could exchange info about Geylang, health centres and KTVs. FLs were never part of my plan.

They arrived, as you pointed out, because of the traffic. However, they are also responsible for the survival of this forum. Without the advertisers, I would have shut the forum down ages ago.

The fact of the matter is that everyone needs each other so I do my best to try to strike a balance but you can never please everyone all the time.

If I could achieve sufficient numbers of premium members who did not mind contributing less than $1 per day, I'd be able to go advert free again. Unfortunately, this has not happened and Premium and donor members only cover a fraction of the costs.

Anyway this thread is an attempt to strike a balance and it's in a zap free zone so go ahead and give your honest feedback but don't go overboard.

Thanks very much for the money and effort to maintain this forum. Everyone here owes a debt of gratitude to you for starting this tremendously fabulous forum. Its only understandable that you need financial aid thru commercialising to support and upkeep the forum.
If only people will appreciate your great and kind thoughts by at least not sabotaging and causing a nuisance here. Providing a good forum experience and showing good FRs and aiding fellow members should be promoted and adhered to instead of unnecessary bad intentions.

Hahaha thanks bro. It's true that we all are still here after so long despite the unfavourable conditions. I always believe nothing is perfect but try to settle for the best. And SBF is still the best. :D

Like what Boss said everything would be ideal if we live in an ideal world but sadly we all know that's not the case. Being part of the SBF community is like living in SG - Boss would have to exercise his discretion in balancing the clean and liberal environment which regular samsters seek against the interests of the advertisers whom although fatten his pocket but also make the continuation of the forum possible.

Of course it only makes sense for Boss to earn a profit from doing all these and I understand that. I might have been even more "evil" if our roles were switched! lol

I'm also aware that Boss might have better opportunities out there if he had opted to shut down SBF back then so kudos to him for persevering and giving us this thriving community.

I guess things are only made worse by the declining quantity and quality of ladies and choices out there at the moment. And those unethical OKTs as well. Guess it just get on everybody's nerves.
