Re: Wife's visit to the doctor

Personally, I dun think this doctor is horny and wants to see the butt and therefore chose to jab over there. Jab at the triceps is always 2nd choice and done with respect to convenience and time allowed(like many people waiting along a queue for the same jab). With privacy and attention, the doc will usually prefer the butt for obvious reasons mentioned by one bro up there.

Doctors have a duty of care much higher than other professions, so they cannot be sued for practising within their scope. But they are liable if the victim is able to prove that they are making decision beyond their role. Choosing a butt jab is within that scope. However, usually the doctor will know how to zi dong (auto) and not try to stare at her private parts or something.

I remember this one occasion some years ago when I brought my gf to a clinic. She developed fever in the middle of our date. The doctor examined her and said its better to get a jab. She die die said no and insisted on getting med instead. It turned out later when I asked her why, she said that doctor a bit mao shou mao jiao (touchy) when examining her, made her really uncomfortable. She din say that she reckon the young doctor was trying to get fresh, but was quite pissed off when the doctor insisted on giving her the jab. I totally missed this episode as I was outside.

Maybe you can ask your wife, maybe woman's feeling is more accurate cos we tend to be influenced by jealousy and being protectionistic.

Women's 6th sense is overhyped. Its just a matter of being observant n knowledgable. In this instance, the doc is doing what is within the scope of providing the best care n privacy for the patient. N since the TS is not within the confines of the curtains, how do he know that the doc was staring at her privates?

Re: Wife's visit to the doctor

Even if the doctor looks at any part of the patients' body, he can still justify it under the action of 'examination'. My point is, because he still need to consider what his patients feel in terms of modesty, he will naturally avoid giving the patient any wrong ideas about him 'staring' at the patient's private parts. Now that is the basic trust given to doctors to perform their job, as it is really beyond our (men) right to tell him what to do and what he can't do.

The point about TS being within or outside the confines of the curtains is not related to him needing to make sure the doctor doesn't stare.

In that context, what I meant was for TS to do the next best thing, which is to trust his wife's instinct to protect herself. Whether she feel that the doctor belongs to the strictly professional type or the sneaky type is then really up to her feel or '6th sense', though I do think that most women have this ability to differentiate. In most cases, I believe woman are alone with the doctor, so she has to muster up her instinct to protect herself and be more knowledgable, as you rightly pointed out.

I beleive doctors need to have a female assistant in the room and not be alone with and female patient when doing any physical examination ....

Ya i agree too. It's definitely out of respect for the patient. I believe the doctors in s'pore are very professional and won't want to put their career at risk just by pulling a fast one.
