You can ask the tour agencies around De Tham n Pham Ngu Lao Street...They do have excursions for up to 7D6N. My Dalat trip was booked there. As for TP HCM there's nothing u can sexplore since you're with ur gf...:)

A lot of vietnamese students in singapore have the mentality that they come from the rich family .....

..Even in modern day singapore, many families are feeling the pitch with the overall increase in prices. For example, if a family with both husband and wife working used to have an income of $10,000 a month, they can live a very good life last time. But nowadays, the purchasing power of their $10,000 a month income may have shrink by 20%. ..

Some observations I had so far:

a) it is surprising that many of the gers have better handphones than a humble Sg male who visits the local Vn or Vn itself... I may be using a $90 h/p, they are using a $450++ h/p!! But I reckon their bank a/c like mine, is near-zero always, except for a few hard-savers who return home to build a new small business.

b) I've read an article on a Sg pinoy maid earns S$ but is an established small time landlady back hm, even employing a few locals to look after her lands... imagine that! The typical locals here own a 'land' on a 'landed HDB', up in the mid-air & valid for 99-yr only. I really cannot make sense of this...

c) Some Vn gers wear expensive jeans (e.g. Lee costs about $170+ a pair) but we guys go cheap-hunting in Th, Vn, CN for clothing..

d) In the last trip, in the airplan I witnessed Vn guys & gers using expensive digicams, iPhone, laptops... and they are visiting Sg (not working or studying here!). They brought along a checklist stating 'Sim Lim Sq, Funan, Bras Basah, Orchard Rd, ...' words I can recognised as shopping list (spend $!) as I peered thro the gap in between the seats from behind. It's not Sentosa, Jurong Bird Park, Joo Chiat,...(not for tourism or visitation)..

e) S$10K seems relatively small now, can consider mid-class (only Govt classify them as 'upper-class' for taxation purpose). That's VND117,000,000 per month! Is it mid- or upper- in Vn?

I reckon some Vn are really rich; some foreigners slaving away in local is richer back home than any of us commoners here...

It states that "Both parents' / Legal guardians' presence and their NRIC (Identity Card) / Passports, OR Court Order to dispense with parents' or legal guardian's consent". Since one of them is foreigner then you will need a Certified Translator if his/her parents cant speak english.

U can marry a foreigner between 18 to 21 but it just alittle bit troublesome I guess.

It is even possible to marry a foreigner below 18 but it is more troublesome as the parents also need to "undergo an interview(s) and counseling session(s) and the granting of a Special Marriage License is subject to approval.

Anyway anyone can call or email ROM for more information. So far they are one of the government sector which reply the fastest from my experience

The majority of the Vietnamese(pop. 85 million) are still dirt poor. Flashy expensive handphone and motorbike are status symbols flashed by
the poor. The rich(small minority) show off their imported RRs, Lamborgianni
& Ferrari, and their villas in choice districts.

The Vietnamese learnt about 'face value' from the mainland Chinese.:D

during my recent 'home' trip...i have seen more than one Bentley on the road...not to mention Merc 350 and RR... and met a fren using Vertu...

some good moneies were made during the recent property boom...and last year's stock market...

on the other hand, as rightly pointed out bro Papillon, most of the population is still fighting to make ends meet...there were a number of strikes this year to increase the wages from factory workers...dont mix it up with sexy bebes on expensive bikes...

the rich-poor gap is widening in alarming pace....:(
