Her suggestion to remit some amount and I tried my best for her sigh.... damm broke :( |
Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
The thing is even if you are not so poor, let them think that you are very poor. If they think you are rich, then they will generate a shopping list every now and then. IF they think you are rich, they will make sure you become poor also....;) In fact, many of them are not so poor. Their ancestors left them with many pieces of land which has appreciated in value for the last few years. One example is my mother-in-law, she has actually around 12 pieces of land in the province, left to her by her father. Each piece of land had appreicated in value from around US$2000 to what is now, around US$12000 a piece. Just that she is not willing to sell, keep saying poor.

I send money over every month. Speaking of this I have yet to thank bro SingViet. Some time back I was wondering what amount was reasonable enough to upkeep a household and I pm him. He estimated a figure. Later down the road thru "thick n thin" with her, she finally confess the amount. It was exactly the same as what bro SingViet estimated. Thanks bro SingViet:) |

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
Well, for me i have passed on all responsibilty of sending money back to my wife already!:D
This was after she started working and earning money. Our agreement was that i will pay for all the expenses of our family in SG...such as groceries, daughter sch fees, any medical bills, insurance...etc etc.... She will own time own target control sending money back to VN based on her assessments of their needs. I think this new year she sent back $1,500!!! But all her money la..cos she say for the past 4-6 months never send money liao so one time send back for the TET. Also she takes care of her own shopping expenses!! haha...I must say my wife really know how to save money!! i definitely lose out to her in this aspect!! So do all your wives and girlfriends save money better than you??;) |
