Believe it or not, 'multiple entry visa' words are clearly written on the back of Singapore identity card. The first time, I saw it, I did examined it again to ensure that my eyes did not play a trick on me. Even my wife saw it too.

I think this is not Singapore NRIC but rather a long term pass card not sure if green colour...ICA started this recently...no longer stamp onto their passport but they have to carry the card which acts like an identity card...:)

This will apply for all PRs and long term pass holders...because PR can dun need to apply Singapore NRIC...:)

See Work Permit, S-Pass and Employment Pass holders all have ID cards...so they decided to issue ID cards to all categories...:)

Nowadays, LTSVP is almost a SURE pass once the Viet gal marries Singaporean man. After that , PR for viet wife pose some challenges for some Singaporean man due to several factors. In fact, PR is like FREE GIFT for many foreigners in Singapore. The most difficult part will be Singapore citizenship for your viet wife. :D

LTSVP - cannot work no subsidy.......PR - can work but no sin passport, no sin shares, bonus, gst credits, etc, more ex for NHG, partial subsidy.........Citizen - all the above and full subsidy.

Dun think LTSVP holder will want to apply work permit because of the restrictions and levy on work permit...the fact gal can get LTSVP is because gal married a sin husband...also confirmed gal not work permit holder because work permit holder needs MOM approval before can get married which takes long time...:)

Subsidy and no subsidy makes a lot of difference in many ways. For example, for children's preschool, government subsidies $300 per kid per month. For healthcare, no subsidy or partial subsidy also means a lot more to pay. ;)

Married to Sing ---> Get LTSVP ---> If want work then apply work permit.

Anyways nowadays there is some pple who get work permit which allow them to get married without MOM approval.

Yep, its a big diff. My friend got his wife to give birth in HCM. If give birth here, costs a bomb!! Heard around 10k plus to 20k. If wife is citizen, significantly less. Another friend of mine, his wife, malaysian on work permit but given marriage approval, is dreading the day his wife giving birth juz cos although he is citizen, wife also not subsidized when giving birth here.

giving birth in Singapore is no cheap business leh. My wife just gave birth to my son at Gleneagles Hospital, total hospital cost + doctor's fees come up to nearly S$13k. This is not inclusive of pregnancy time doctor's fees. If add all, total around S$23k. Comparatively, when my daughters were borned in Saigon around 5 years ago, i spent only around US$3000 for all expenses, from doctor's fees during pregnancy to giving birth. (and this is in International Hospital and in Single ward)

Bros may ask me why Gleneagles? I started off at KK Hospital. Super long queue with inexperienced foreigner health workers. Gave me wrong scanning results which gave my family sleepless nights worrying. Thus, decided to change to private. BTW, KK also not cheap if your wife is not Singaporean.

As long as the husband have cpf, then nothing much to worry. If count from start of labour go into hospital till go home. It is not that expensive. If natural birth, it will be cheaper. If Cesarean Section then if i remember correctly the bill is around 8k plus. This will include baby doctor as well. The 8k plus is for a 2 person ward. If single ward it is just 100-200plus more.

The cash u need to pay after minus medisave, should be around 2k or less. For my wife she go for Cesarean Section and total cash I give is 1.8k plus. Unless there is complication, and doctor need to use some "special" equipment to assist then it may be more ex.

Other cash which is not include is the check up during pregnancy. Per visit should range around 70-250. Depending on how much medicine u buy, test or scan that need to take.

The charges above is rough estimation but should be around there plus minus some dollar. If u need more detail billing then i can dig out my bill. Btw the price above is more private gyna and giving birth at Parkway Health group hospital.

When a person are issued with work permit, at that time she or he should know if there is a need to seek MOM approval. If he/she cant remember then just ring up MOM and ask them rather than guessing or asking pple here
