If Cesarean Section then if i remember correctly the bill is around 8k plus. This will include baby doctor as well. The 8k plus is for a 2 person ward. If single ward it is just 100-200plus more.

The cash u need to pay after minus medisave, should be around 2k or less. For my wife she go for Cesarean Section and total cash I give is 1.8k plus. Unless there is complication, and doctor need to use some "special" equipment to assist then it may be more ex.

Other cash which is not include is the check up during pregnancy. Per visit should range around 70-250. Depending on how much medicine u buy, test or scan that need to take.

The charges above is rough estimation but should be around there plus minus some dollar. If u need more detail billing then i can dig out my bill. Btw the price above is more private gyna and giving birth at Parkway Health group hospital.

Yes, that's why medisave is quite important. I always encourage self-employed bros to contribute to Medisave, it saves you a lot of trouble when times like this come.

This is not inclusive of pregnancy time doctor's fees. If add all, total around S$23k. Comparatively, when my daughters were borned in Saigon around 5 years ago, i spent only around US$3000 for all expenses, from doctor's fees during pregnancy to giving birth. (and this is in International Hospital and in Single ward)

Bros may ask me why Gleneagles? I started off at KK Hospital. Super long queue with inexperienced foreigner health workers. Gave me wrong scanning results which gave my family sleepless nights worrying. Thus, decided to change to private. BTW, KK also not cheap if your wife is not Singaporean.

Cogratulations Bro SingViet on your new bouncing baby Boy...:)

I just had a yahoo chat with a vn gal.
I was told that 20 Oct is Ngay Phu Nu Viet Nam (Vietnam woman's day)

Does your vn partner expect you to treat this day as an important day for them?

In singapore, you pay for every extra thing that you use in hospital. The standard delivery package is inclusive of a standard array of equipments and tools. if you use extra, they charge you for you. For example, my wife's single ward room charges is not inclusive of a relative staying over with her. If stay over, extra $75 a night, that makes the room over $500 a day, excluding doctor's fees.

In Vietnam, medical services are heavily subsidies for. To have natural birth in the province will only cost around 1.5 million VND, but of course, the standard of service is much lower. ;)

Let's start with Cho Ray Hospital in HCM City Q5. Go to their local ward, not the international clinic. In the local wards, you can find rats running around, super crowded toilets with choked toilet bowls. Relatives of patients sleeping on the corridors and eating there.... what do you think? ;)

Many vietnamese spouses request to return to vietnam for holiday for a month or two each year. They give all sorts of reasons to go back. I have seen and have heard of these vietnamese spouses returning to Vietnam to meet their vietnamese bf or even resort to finding vietkieu bfs during their stay in Vietnam.

one of my wife's friend in Singapore return to Vietnam every quarter. For every 3 months she stays in Singapore, she will request the husband to allow her to go back Vietnam for 1 or 2 months. This caring Singaporean husband always allow his vietnamese wife to go back. The vietnamese spouse tells my wife that she will go back Vietnam to earn some pocket money by offering herself to Vietkieus . At the same time, she also has a vietnamese bf in vietnam.

When your viet spouse tells you she misses home, do you think she needs to go back for a month or 2? I will think 1 week back home will be good enough. :D
