meal normally cost me vnd 12k x 2 = 24k per day
cigrattes cost me vnk 14,500 x 2 = 29k per day
total expenses per day = 54k
monthly will be 54k x 30 = 1.62 million dong...

sorry... normally i dont go out... stay in office watch online movies and playing facebook once in awhile... currently living in my company... so can cut away on makan as company provides all mine meal... sometimes hungry than cook instant noodles @ 3.5k vnd per packet... so living in vietnam is so relaxing... the most i move to her house lo... spend some money on renov + install internet... ask her to cook i think expenses will be much lower.... but if includes her family than i dunno how to caculate... :D

yah bro, sometime i really dont understand they way they do things.some of the funny things i encounter.

1)marry a viet girl must go interview with the officer first (like commited a crime like that).some more before u marry, must go there 3 time.1st time-file for marriage,2nd time-interview,3rd time-sign the paper if u want to marry there.

2nd time is the most important one cos kopi money/under table money must give so that u have the chance to see them for the third time.;)

2)bank in money at their local bank they have to open a new bank account book for u.

example-today i open,they give 1 new account bank book
tomorrow i deposit, they will change the book to a new one

3)withdraw any money is by hand written on the book and not computerise one

i guess this is what people call CULTURE SHOCK:D

[QUOTE=SingViet;5863202]My experiences in HCMC and with their properties tells me that it will be a better bet to earn some big bucks thru properties in Singapore first, then retire in Malaysia.......

Brother singviet,

Mind telling us wat business u're in?

Now that my gf has gone back to her village, I'm now considering getting a job in Viet, as I've checked through tat some Spore construction companies are hiring engineers to go over.

Any bros mind sharing ur thoughts? As I'm not really familiar with Viet condition & don speak Viet, just been there once....

Bro, i operate a few small businesses in different fields that's not worthy of mention. If you wish to have the opportunity to work in Vietnam, the best option is to be posted there by Singapore companies. Only then will you be getting pay of Singapore standard. If you work under local Viet terms, you may not be earning enough to afford air ticket home every few months.

Yr 2 million VND a month is really belt tighthening. But with your company providing you with a roof, then you really save a lot. If you stay on your own, renting a house is enuff to bust your budget. As for staying with your ban gai, you will realise that very soon, her family will be coming over very often and your budget will be busted again. I still remember my MIL came to my house once, told my wife she likes my DVD player and my TV, so the next day when she went home, she pack the DVD player and TV home to the province. I had a heated argument with my wife, but no use lor. They always try to threaten you with divorce. So i need to spend again to buy a new set of DVD player and TV, just that this time, i buy the Made In China cheap cheap brand. :D
