with that kind of money, how they going to survive?and now even more worst with their double digit inflation,so they go borrow.for them their thinking is they dont have any future or long term plan, their only valuable things is their dayghter,so is what they have or borrow now, they use first

u say that your girl ask u to go vietnam asap to show ah long that she have a sg boyfriend, maybe u can also check with the ah long how much they own so that u can know whether that girl is a "good investment" or not for u:D

their ah long charge 20% interest, not surprise cos they also scare cos they borrow to poor ppl, look at sg legal money lender interest and fees and u will know because they also borrow to low income ppl in sg :)

According to my gal, ppl at her commune(village) in An Giang earn about US$100++ a month. I check this with another old viet friend of mine in HCM, he was my uni-mate/hostel mate in SG, he say no surprise. a local graduate in vietnam who speaks and writes good english is paid US$350 a month in HCM.

But according to my friend, you can't judge a vnmese based on their salary bcuz some of them have a lot of sidelines. but i guess this apply only those with good education, have lots of connection, and have good future planning :D

Imagine how much do they need to come to SG and work. my gal told me for the first timer, there's a contact here in sg who will bring them to work in the ktv. they hv to pay the "contact" an one-time charge of $1500, not inclusive of their monthly $500 lodging (they are crammed in one hdb unit owned by the contact, 4-5 person one room). And not to mention, they need to bring in cash of SG$1500 to pass immigration requirement. And also $400 for round trip air ticket ! So probably they need at least $3500 just to have their feet stepped onto the holy empire of SG for the first time.

For subsquent entry to SG, the one-time charge of $1500 is omitted. So they probably need $400(air tix) + $1500(for ICA to see) to come again.

So come to think of it, how long must they save with that kind of pathetic pay back in their province in order to come to SG? So there's a better alternative which is to ask from Ah Long.

Assume they get $2k from ah long, with the 20% int rate, they have to pay back $2.4k. If they are denied an entry, their $400 air tix is burnt, they can only return the $1.5k, the balance of $900 is their debt! how long do they need to work at their village to pay back the money.

Bro golden_question, if i am not wrong, she told me it's about $3k plus or something. but i'm not gonna pay for her at all! I only give her $500 for her air tix etc. She told me shes selling her house to pay for it. and she need to come here and work to earn back the money and buy back her house. now she's working in a factory almost everyday while waiting for me to go over. too bad i had a huge loss in the stock market recently. if not and IF there's a way, i would have bought her house and get lodging+bonks everytime i go over LOL! :D

My gal used to ask me to go to her place asap and show the ppl around she got SG bf so that those ppl won't come and harass her family so often.

and i heard their Ah long charge 20% int per month?

could not agree more with you bro golden_question. their debt crisis is worse than US default and EU sovereign debt crisis.

lots of vnmese r in debt and hence the arrival of their daughters in SG-land

yah their ah long charge is 20% per month, which is worst than the bank... dont know who can survive borrowing form the loanshark.. they borrow here and there, thus in the end their daughter have to come to Singapore to work as chick.

every marriage has its ups and downs. it took me a lot of time and effort to change my wife's thinking. i have never regretted marrying my wife, especially after my major spinal surgery 1 1/2 years ago when my wife took great effort to take good care of me. :)

i think the boxing comes after looting the belongings from the debtor's house. no point boxing them and get nothing...

and i think a boxing from the debtor to his own wife comes in order after that :D

bro, where got ah long effective interest rate is better than bank one? ah long service is good bcuz they only need to know where u stay and your IC no.

In a way, we shd be grateful of their such issues, else how can we get in touch with VB in sillypore? if one wants to get entangled with them, i reckon he has to accept and get involved in such issues as well.
