you think the wife is stupid ha...as a singapore citizen is 5 mil savings because any non educated ppl wants to be Sinkie has to invest 5 mil in biz...also married off to a sinkie will escape their poverty and hope for a better life in future...definitely better off then her present life...:p

compare to local sinkie ger, viet ger are definitely more subservient and more willing to serve the hubby, in-laws and working domestic which they are trained and brought up to do...read bro SingViet story and proof of that...:p

yah bro,a lot of things is hard to say.marry already also can divorce.my thinking is i will not even say that my marriage is a success even after 15 years or more like what u mention.perhaps is only until when we both walk finish our journey and report to heaven and we are still together and happy then can consider a success:)

i agree that married off to a sinkie will definitely escape their poverty and more stable and hence better life. but might not be somewhere near to level of wealth they dreamt of if marrying a sinkie. i think it still depends on what they want eventually. a stable life or a rich life? if they want a stable life they got a lot of choices to choose from in sillypore. if they want a rich life... they might be disappointed and hence the mess that pursues.

bro singviet story is a story of success. everyone wants to be successful in marriage but what is the rate of success, may i ask? we can do what we can at our best effort and hope for the best. bo pao sure get a good wife like bro singviet.

i dont deny that this might be one of the reason she marry me that time.

but what is important is how she treat me after marriage.she do her duty as a wife and treat my parents good.she understand what and why i cannot or can do for certain things.she work to give her mother money and does not ask from me.understand your viet spouse is more important than thinking what hidden agenda she have:)

come to think of it, it seems like the VBs are very concerned of us working, is it just WL or VB or every gal also like that? when i told my no1 i'm going to change job, she say, " huh why? very hard to find a good job. don't la... " my no2 also ask me if im working at all bcuz the first time we went out and stay up very late. she sounded very very concerned about it.

it might be a typical quality that VB is looking for in a man?

yea generally all of them. but it seems like to me it's really really important for VB lol... sillypore gal not so much ler i think... those i met r grads w good degree and earning as much as or even more than me. a lot of them looking for guys who can accommodate their special "needs" nia... and ya some hope that they can be tai tai very soon and hence the concern of my career... seems like im robert in every way??? :confused::(

Its a norm that gals will like to marry guys who are financially stable. You cannot live on AIR, especially in competitve and expensive Singapore. When a couple marry and set up a family, there's a lot of bills to pay. From mortgages to utilities to food, all need money. So if a lady marry a guy that's financiall unstable, its going to be a bed of thorns, not roses. Often, arguements arise because of financial problems. So be it a Viet lady or Singapore lady, its always their dream to marry someone very rich, or to the other extreme, someone who is financially stable. The difference between Viet ladies and Singapore ladies is their definition of STABLE, for the Singapore lady, a guy who earns $3k a month is poor, but to the Viet lady, this guy is considered quite good roi. A 4 room HDB flat is no face to a Singapore lady, but considered GOOD to a Viet lady. But i have realised one thing that's quite uniform, all of them want to stay away from In-Laws. So the differences in their expectations makes a lot of difference. ;)

When i first married my wife, i have shown her that i am poor and damm stingy. That's also the reason why we argued a lot in the intial few years of marriage. Thru the years, our income increased but i still show her that we need to save for the children. So that's always GOOD REASONS why we cannot afford to give her family a lot of money. :D They can call me stingy or whatsoever, the thought of my hard earned money going to those useless chaps in the province makes me mad.......... want money? go work, i don't owe you anything ...hahaha
