Bro kangTuo, if you are still wondering how Empress Hotel looks like:
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s.../IMAGE0004.jpg Go for the deluxe room and NOT the bachelor room. Bachelor room has only 1 single bed. And ask the staff for rooms from Level 3 onwards :D |

I was staying in my g/f friend house in Mekong. Got a grandfather.. ok he is the only one who do nothing.. too old. There are 2 other guys. I think 1 if father and another is elder brother. The father would still do house maintenance and fetch the mother to/from market. He also help the girls in prearing meal, though its the girls (mostly my g/f) who do the cooking. He did make me peel vegetables and help in preparing meal. The brother goes to work.. but seems damn short hour. 10am go out, 3pm come home. But the brother helps prepare table for dinner... The family is very close and warm... My g/f have 2 younger brother . I still studying, he still run errands for the family in Mekong. Another 1 is working as an electrician in HCM and stying with his baxa and my g/f in the rented house. He still run errands and fetch my g/f here and there when ask upon. Contirbution of money in to family?..i got no idea already. Her father is too old to work, so mostly drink coffee and wathc tv. Her brother-in-law?...hhmmm i got no idea what he do.. maybe he is the typical viet guy who sits around and do nothing. |
Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
My father in law has been `in retirement' since he was 50 years old. He only helps to maintain the house in the province. the mother also has been `in retirement' but does a damm WONDERFUL job of taking money from the daughters to give to the 2 sons. My bro-in-law does the job of construction worker, helping to construct houses. Earns around S$5 a day. if rainy day no work, means no money. His job is simple, starts work at 9am with a round of tea drinking, actualy work starts by 930am. Then 1130am, rest for lunch till 130pm. Then drink white wine for 30 mins till 2pm then work tills 430pm. Now u know what is good and simple life? :D

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
From this Sunday onwards (25/03/07), JetStar will fly to HCM City with their brand new AirBus A320 jet. Daily morning flight, except tuesday.
Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun SIN / SGN - 0725 / 0825 SGN / SIN - 0905 / 1205 Tue (Night Flight) SIN / SGN - 1905 / 2005 SGN / SIN - 2055 / 0005 Their JetSaver class ticket also cheaper than tiger air. Did a random check for next week's return ticket , tiger Air @ around S$375 while JetStar @ around S$265. Best thing about JetStar is that there's allocated seats. No need to feel like refugee fighting for a seat on Tigerairways. :D |
