It is immediate when u r out of moderation mode, while in moderation mode, it depends on the mod queue.. could range from 5mins to afew hours…

I have joined for 10 years, but have been submerged most of the time.

If i have 10 posts, i am eligible to gain my first rep power. Also, 1 point of reputation power is gained every YEAR. Is this rep power backdated?

Bro, Read these first.
After you met the first requirement of minimum 10 posts, PM me and I will up you.

Reputation System Questions:
1) Normal route: Points/power/who Upz / etc: http://sbf.net.nz/showthread.php?t=60407
2) FAQs: http://sbf.net.nz/showthread.php?t=52814

Bottomline -
1) When a reputation points of 100 is reached, reputation power becomes 1.
So ask other Bros to up you and promise to up them back once you have power.

2) A min of 10 posts is also required to gain your 1st rep power.

After that,
When you see a person's posting from the last 2 days, on the top right hand corner, you will see a weighing scale. Just click on the scale and, when a window opens, select approve and write any comments, eg "Hi, Astonius has just upped you with xx points"
That way, the recipient will know who upped him.

To find a person, click on search on the tool bar at the top and select advanced search.
Type in the name of the person you are searching for.
Then it will list all the recent posts by that person you were searching for.

Finally don't start upping people when you still have zero power. Wait until you have at least 1. Otherwise the receiving party gets nothing.

Hi guys im relatively new here (just inactive in the past) was wondering what is this point system for as I've been seeing it a lot these days

Also I wanted to ask: I haven't been sending messages to anyone lately but I tried to send PM 4 samsters yesterday the page just reload and when I check my "message sent" it's not there - am I missing out something? I'm not some old uncle that can't use tech lmao so am I missing out something here?

Oh sry guys looks like it was loading and the site glitching on me....might be cuz of the Vpn. Message still doesn't seem to work tho, would appreciate if any old bird can guide me? Happy to see how I can value add to my bros out there if I can as well :)
