There is this NEW scheme effective on 1 Apr 2012 ... it is called LTVP PLUS !

It period is either 3 or 5 years ...... depending on:

1. More than 3 years of Marriage
2. Duration of Stay in Singapore
3. Any child(s)

This addition criteria will be plus the existing LTVP criteria.

If you are so unfortunate not to get the 3 or 5 years LTVP plus, you will still get the LTVP.

IMO,

LTVP Plus are given to applicants who had their PR application rejected , and to make them happy.

Also use to assess the period of stay during the 3 or 5 years LTVP plus.

Because already issue with this LTVP plus, during this period, applying of PR sure cannot get. becasue you still got a long time frame before the LTVP ends.

wuah..like that i better just renew the one year ltvp for my oc cost i book PR appt liao...

was thinking apply ltvp plus while waiting PR but if according to what u say , then i better think twice liaoz...

yes i know of this new LTVP+.
3 yrs is given for 1st successful application, 5 yrs on subsequent renewal.
But as u said its a new scheme effective from april, how can Xgenre's case be applicable to the LTVP+ as the scheme is not even effective then? Have u heard of 5 yrs LTVP prior to the new scheme?

I dun think u can choose. Once apply for LTVP, u are automatically considered for the LTVP+. Dun worry lah.

Another thing is when they speak english and chinese.Their sound is different from others.Their chinese is not like when sg chinese or PRC sound and same goes for their english sound is not the same as sg or filipino.same as when u heard prc speak english,their sound is different.

Recently went G2000 to buy shirt,saw one mei mei staff and speak english with me.try to see what is the name on her name tag but is christian name but i confirm is from vietnam cos the english sound like my wife speak to me:D

The vietnamese have difficulties pronouncing `Sssss'. Next time when you are with a viet or at the viet airport, do pay much attention to how they pronounce `MR'. They will pronounce it as `Meter'. Viets are very much confused about the western way of FIRST NAME and LAST NAME. In actual fact, Last name is your surname. We , asians, put our surname first, but the SWM, placed theirs last. Vietnamese will often put it this way, for example, Mr Nguyen Tan Dung, first name is actually Tan Dung, and last name is Nguyen. So its still Mr Nguyen. But the viets, being totally confused (even their newspaper editors are confused) will put it as Mr Dung. I have tried to explain to some of my vietnamese friends, they realised it but said let it be since the whole country is doing it. :D
