I used to do that also when planned to go back vietnam, but nowaday I more frequent fly with Lion Air to-fro to vietnam, reason being no additional hidden cost with 20kg check-in lugguage. Recently i fly back by Lion with excess baggauge of 5 kg per pax ... hehehhe ... so lucky ..

Teach u 1 trick when travelling lion air ..

Buy your rd trip ticket seperately ... 1-way SIN-VN and then 1-way VN-SIN ...

If u buy like this .. SIN-VN will be expensive by $1-$2 ... whereas VN-SIN will be Cheaper by about $10 bucks even though after converting usd to sg ....

U have to get at least 1 week before your flight .. else NO more promotional price's ticket ...
