what's your view on a man staying freely long term at the in laws place. from both men n women's point of view. pls comment :}

It depends on circumstances but if it's a case of laziness and good for nothing bloke, I'll kick the fellow out to the streets.

If he lazy, never bring 'bread' home to wife and family/ in laws, then it's eating free food and use free electricity and water., he is a bumper, although if wife keeps asking him to go back to their house/ buy a home, etc. It will be he will not be good for wife and her family in future too.

If wife is the one who wants to stay and force him to stay with her parents, and he guai guai does so, then he is henpeck.

Isn't it a custom that Muslim men move in with the in-laws?

Anyway, I wouldn't do it regardless of my religion. Just work hard & provide a roof for my family as a man.

Everyone has a role to play in the house.
Does he volunteer to fix lightings when situation arises?
Does he have initiative to buy takeaway for the family at times?

Staying with in-laws is whose idea? Men do need our respect too. If it's wifey, then did you discuss with him? Have to spare a thought for a man's ego and pride. Men need to lift their heads up in front of relatives and peers. Reminder: Don't burden our beloved man with pressure.

If the guy does contribute , I guess is alright ( eg. PUB bill or marketing allowance etc ). If not financially, like what I mentioned earlier is acceptable too.

If he is just plain lazy and living on others ....... That's detestable!!! If I am his in-law, sure shoo him off with a broom, slam the door on his face :p

One thing I am for sure is if you dun start coming in. The shit stirrers might forget ur presence and i will have to scream like a banshee. I have given a lot of ideas liao. Or your pop corn has not finished?
