Thai disco my friend. Go there often and you'll pick it up sooner or later. Better yet date someone over there and you'll be able to learn faster. You'll be surprised some of them can speak really good english, making it easier to learn.

If not just go youtube can learn la, although the thai that they teach is so damn formal you'll sound like some pompous prick if you speak it to the locals. Either that or you can learn some basic thai on phone apps, some are pretty useful. 8)

i do speak basic thai which i've picked up from my years of cheonging at thai bar and bkk. based on my personal experience, there is a different service level if u speak thai versus u do not speak thai at all. when i speak thai to the wl, there will be extra services like frenching, bbbj, cim and more gfe svc. but when i act like i do not understand or speak a word of thai, the service will be the standard sop kind. once i've act like i do not speak thai and until the deed is done, i just converse with the wl in thai and she was like "why u acted like u dont speak thai earlier? if you had, i would have service u differently because i will feel more at home"
but of cos, not every wl will be the same if u speak thai or not esp ang pai and ur physical appearance must be appealing to them la.

Seems like speaking Thai do have an advantage when engaging a FL huh. I've tried learning from YouTube and apps, but they are all just too formal. Is there any where I can learn to speak more like them? I speak formal to some WL and they just keep laughing at me lol. But we do had fun when there's attempt to speak their language. :p
