I checked the screen in front and saw that it was HER calling……I pressed mute and just left the phone on the table again……

3 mins later….phone rang again and it was HER again….deciding that this might go on all night, decided to answer it. “Hello? Yes…I’m in the middle of dinner…can I call you later?” “Oh…you having dinner with her or with someone else?” “Excuse me? I believe I have freedom to decide who I have dinner with without you asking me questions, right?”

With that said, I hung up the phone. “Sorry dude, that was your PA man! Asking me where I was and with whom I eating dinner with, she damn possessive…didn’t look that sort when I first saw her…” I continued.

“Well, she may look like the wild party sort but I guess deep down she’s still a conventional Chinese girl….don’t forget that she graduated from NUS whereas we tasted college life elsewhere…..so mindsets may be different”

“True…true….plus her family seems quite traditional …I’ve met them, by chance, when we went for lunch on of those days……”

“Anyway, you seem happy with the food seeing you have cleaned up the plate thoroughly?”

“Oh yes, excellent…..and somehow the scotch compliments the food as well….very enjoyable.”

“Oh..btw, I promised you PA that I will bring her along to my Shanghai trip…..i feel it’s better to have her around to take notes for the meetings anyway….my secretary’s preggie….so better not have her travel”

“No problem, I just consider it official business for her so u guys can work ‘closely’ and seal the deal…..” Matt said with a smirk on his face.

“Thanks buddy! You’re the best!”

With that said, Matt made his way off as he had quite a drive back to his apartment in town area while I continued with my scotch.

I took up my communicator and called HER mobile and when she picked up. “Hello? WE are traveling to Shanghai the day after next, can u start getting packed?” “Oh…ok…..how long we gonna be there for?”

“ABOUT 10 days…..and we need to fly up further North…..so better pack some warmer clothings….the rest we can buy there.”

“Ok, I’ll sms my boss now…” “No need, I’ve already gotten you on business trip under your company’s account….so your leave won’t be expended as well…..Cool?”

“Oh…baby…..you are the BEST! Where are you now? Can I come and see you?”

“ER….it’s kinda late and besides it’s very far from your place……” She cut in before I could finish and said “I dun care how far, I’ll drive my dad’s Merc…..how to get to where you are?”

“Ok then, get onto the TPE then SLE and exit at Upper Thomson Road taking a right and then head along Sembawang Road till you get past Khatib Camp……..got it so far? Ok good….then proceed along on the left lane and turn left just AFTER the entrance to Macdonalds….there’s a pub called ‘WINDY PUB’…I’ll see you there….ok?”

“Ok, I’ve written it down and will change and rush out to see my baby…! Bye!”
