I always tell my frens dun probe about a vb past if she do not want to divulge...likely to be lies...imagine her nightmare raped or sexually abused at very young age...what is the point of knowing the truth...often frens cannot accept truth...so if you like the vb then just proceed...if not then move on with responsibility...if vb is also wl then make sure frens pay and no more commitment after payment...
