After ramadan? Usually, after Idu fitri, The first few days will be quiet. After the 3rd or 4th day onwards, you can see them opening. They need money lah. And new stock will coming after that.
As for Sintai being watched and workers from Surabaya... This is something new.
Usually, Batam is the last stop for all work ladies all over Indonesia, before they retire back to their kampong.
The trade goes like this. As per what I know, is that the gals start working as early as 14 or 15 years of age. Usually in Jakarta, where she usually started off at her youth. After the age of 20 or so, they would go around other cities prying their trade, and by the time, they are mid 20s or late 20s, not wanted or kept by others, they would come to Batam.
Some would end in up massage joints, some as others GF, hoping to look for rich singaporeans or foreigners, or FL. The rest is history as we know and those who are unlucky, usually leave this trade at about 40 or 45, where the massage joints would usually be their last option.
