I had few friends which married VB and I told them to tell them what you want and what you can provide 1st before marriage. If not, they will be no peace in the family. One didn't heed my advice, in the end, end up full of credit card debts and now waiting for him to wake up (from his dream) and divorce with his BX.

Its good to let the VB know what she can expect after marriage, but often, the life they are having are still better than what they have in VN province. If any Singapore man can tell his bx that he will not give monthly allowances to her family and not help her family to buy motorbike or build house, i am sure the VB will not want to marry the Singapore man too. I know of a few Singapore man who always sing praises of their Viet spouse and always say their bx never take money from them. But as time passes by, they will leak some info like they have to give allowances monthly, buy motorbike for her family and even build house for them. Everybody wants face, but to the extend of that is too much. Think about it, if the money for building houses and buying bikes are saved up, the Singaporean husband and her VB can have a much better life. I always say why Singaporean husbands are always broke, wife cannot help in family expenses but yet need to give to her family. Still got extra request for house and bike, earn also not enough for them to spend.
Children educated wrongly, do badly in school. With all these, so how to expect Singaporeans to look up on us? All these years, i have friends and relatives who asked me why i married VB? They looked down on me. But they all think otherwise now with my kids receiving academic excellence awards yearly, i staying in condo and driving new cars. This is possible because my wife and i share common goals and we work towards it.
