In every investment, there will be different point of views. You may be right to your understanding and others may be right to theirs. For example, when i invested in the villa at KDC Trung Son , HCM City , many years ago, some called me crazy as its far in Binh Chanh. Phu My Hung Q7 was only just coming up and the whole place there around Nguyen Van Linh was deserted. But eventually, it turned out well for me. Same thing happened in 2008 in Singapore when i invested in a 99 year leasehold corner terrace house in Loyang, i see the potential while most don't. 3 years and its a 70% appreciation in value.
Singapore Government and related companies are the biggest investors in Iskandar and i am sure they have their own agenda. Other big established Singapore private schools like MDIS and Raffles University are also there. UK Universities like University of Reading is there too. I have my plans for my investment there and it is going to be mid to long term. To be true, if one is looking for rental income from investing in Iskandar, its really tough. The good thing is that its close to Singapore and i can pop over for a relaxing weekend anytime . The offer of space is not what we can get in Singapore. To each their own, i invested and i do hope that it will turn out well. If in any instance it doesn't, i just take it as a lesson learnt.
