I did a recent trip on 2/04 thursday..wanted to be on the first ferry at 8am (Kiasu)
..my friend already bought the sindo ferry tixs but unfortunately i was late.. so i missed the check in by 5 mins..so we had to return to sindo ferry counter and asked for a refund..they just deducted $10 and rtn us the rest .right after which we made our way to indo falcon and paid for the next ferry at 11am ...right after we went to makan at kopitiam...have not left yet lose S$10..
The customs are really particular about the checking time ..5 mins also cannot be early ..gate open at 1025 means cannot enter at 1020..so damn strict.
After purchasing our booze and a extra bottle for the ferry trip(Tip: duty free will ask if 3 people travelling rite? just say yes cause she will only ask for 1 passport only)...so we purchased a malibu just for fun.Once we boarded the ferr..start drinking and watching movie on screen..Dont bother to go out and smoke if the ferry has a small smoking are, as the gasoline from the engine exhaust was terrible. Ferry was unusually empty as we were expecting a larger crowd.Reached Balai and cleared Immgration without a hitch eventhough it was my first trip to Balai and my passport was brand new. While clearing immi you can see drivers signaling you through the glass panels if you wanted a driver?..we politely declined using hand signals as we had already booked a driver before hand(If you need the driver's details PM me)
After we meet up with driver, straight shoot to Money Changer...Once done.. told him to head to Balai view hotel.Balai view walking rates were 400000rp for deluxe per nite...to me it was definitely worth it cause i prefer comfort in hotel...but that's just my view
Balai view has 2 minimarts or mama shops as we referred to it..1 nomal eating shop shops that sold the the best sop ayam i have ever tasted..at night got ramly burger stall...and one standard indo nasi padang stall..KTV was closed and numerous massage parlors...Just ask at recep and they will provide a photo album wit different girls...seriously too many to chose sia.
