Seriously ? The security detain the girl ? That's a very new one. Some hotel will hold the girl to get your ok to let her go, lest you accuse her of something or other missing. And some hotels enforce strict registration of guests.

I was there last week and didn't see anything out of ordinary regarding security, it is normal during festival exodus and long weekend for PNP to deploy extra security with sniffer dogs etc, at bus terminal, some hotels and such
Still their security is a big joke .. that's my 2 cents. .
