peck or not, in one hotel the security still called the girl and recorded her ID information.
and if and when a security detain the girl it's not in a rude way. They just ask the girl to wait in the lobby while they call you for confirmation...never noticed by others .. never obtrusive...and that's pretty much how they do it in any star hotel. After all they know that whoever meeting the foreigner can be powerful folks too, and stepping on the wrong toes will see their career and sometimes life end quickly - I have seen how it went when a new security tried to frisk a Filipino friend who was a little bit connected ... next day the fellow was jobless, no reason given, and Philippine bosses know how to keep staff on a short leash
Unlike other countries, in my 10 plus plus years of visits to Philippines and pretty much a lot of it outside manila/makati, the hotel security never ever tried to be funny or take advantage of girls meeting foreigners - that's normally taken care by the taxi drivers who without any qualms rip off the poor girls. Especially in Manila.
the security, in most cases don't even expect a tip, and if at all there had been scams or con jobs, it was fellows who pretend to be hotel security and a lot of inexperienced folks fall for the offer to protect the visitor and end up paying big service fees .. confidence tricksters as they are known, galore in Philippines..
Ps, as for the mirrors, even in Baguio when I drive to SM they do check under the cars but ... having some experience working with security, the private security have no clue what they are doing, and are just pretending to be doing a wonderful job . ... and we just pretend in return
And the body frisking for guns too is also far from anything worthwhile ... but, as visitors we just gotta pretend they are doing a great job and go on with our life ...
