When an average mid-level executive filipino earns like about 30K peso or less a month, before deduction, of course, they watch out to make sure the foreigner pays- then again, knowing filipinos, they do that crap in Singapore too
been in enough awkward situations where Filipino acquaintances working in Singapore, some earning more than me, expected me to pay .. well, I did pay and left them with a bigger bill when I got a chance - their logic being, they are family people, and they need to take care of not just their immediate family, but also extended family.
And I am like ... so ??? Why do I have to share your burden ??
And before anybody jumps in and starts attacking me, I do have filipino friends in Singapore and PH too, who will either share the bill, or if I am a guest, will make sure I will spend nothing.
