Better to hang around at places which are foreigner friendly. In tourist area snatch thief and pickpocket are normal. I witness twice bag beig snatch by motorbike robber. Outside tourist area even worse. My vietnamese friend warn me not to loiter around too much outside district 1.
My friend went off to explore massage parlour outside tourist area, after pay 300K tip, girl demand 1mil from him which he refuse to give. Girl call in few guys corner him threaten to whack him. In the end no choice LL pay them 1mil. Vietnam is not foreigner friendly. Play safe.
