What is a Quote (or quote-lock) and what is a Hide Function in this forum?
Let's start with Quote 1st...
This below, is a quote :
1. I type something,i highlight it and then i click on
which will give me the above.
2. Now another way to Quote is by clicking on the
button of a person's post which is usually at the button right side of a person's posting.
Important note : I think it is against forum rule to quote the entire whole long post of another person during a reply. Avoid it.

When you move your mouse cursor over on to the

So when you happen to quote someone else's posting/s,please make sure to edit/remove certain part of the quoted content before posting to avoid your post from being removed by a mod or administrator.
Now what is a Quote-lock :
Quote lock is when i type a very long post,before having it posted,i highlighted part/s of my words,so that others do not get a chance quote my entire whole long posting.
In other word,you cannot quote my words below when i quote (-lock) it like the below :

Before posting it out to allow public to view my post,i highlight PART of my words and then click on
. I do that sometime whenever i have some very long message in a single post, so that readers who are replying to my post DO NOT have a chance to quote my Whole Long post,hence not breaching the forum rules (and be removed).

The 2nd Paragraph
Ok,so much for the Quote-Locking above,now we come to the Spoiler Button aka Hide-Code.
What is a Hide Code?
This is a Hide code (like the below)-
I hide the content of my 'words' into the spoiler button and it is only when you clicked on the spoiler button could you then see the words/pictures/content i have hidden.
How to use it?
1. Just like the Quote button
, you will 1st have to write something,or maybe post a photo,and then you
highlight it like the below...
2. After you highlighted it...click on the
button.
3. Instead of clicking Submit Reply to post,you click on Preview Post to double check if you could see
in your preview.
4. Once you could see that spoiler button, it is confirm that your have done it correctly and you are safe to click on "Submit Reply" thereafter.
Hide Code is also another good method to shorten a very long post whereby you allow ONLY interest party to view your posting which you choose to be 'hidden' away. They will have to click on the
button to view your post. You can even do a Spoiler within another Spoiler like this too.
All you need is to highlight your massage and then click on the
button over and over again.
Of course, I can also use the Hide Code aka Spoiler button to hide some very big animated file and then write a pre-warned message that says.
More than 10 mb big animated file
when you click on the spoiler button below
