I guess since you already knew about Balai, Batam should be like a walk in the park. There are many things one can try out in Batam out of fun...test them out, and you might just be surprise what your money can bring you which the same amount of it cannot be brought to you in Singapore and perhaps other countries.
I am sure you will be able to find the fun you are looking for.
