Many bros interested in foreigner wife, including me....
I think ICA had quotas for each nationality ...
I had friends who tried many times but not successful.
They need many documents, including not stated in the form.
Like salary, educational, financial status, home ownership, ....
they want to access you & your wife ability & potential to contribute to economy. Lastly, both family background do matter.
However, PRC seem to be much easier.
One of my friend earning about $2000/mth still cannot get PR for his thai wife. He become a regular flyer.
He went to ICA on countless times and those ICA fatty virgin are not very helpful. I can understand these unmarried gal .... they must be wondering why you had to choose someone outside. he keep scolding these ICA staff as old fxxxing virign.
Another friend who is only secondary 2 education but earn almost $100,000/yr, only manage to get PR for his thai wife after several interviews and appeal. finally, he reject the PR and shift to locate in thailand.
Another friend try to get PR for his indonesia wife.
He get it after 6mth from ROM, on 1 appeal.
He is secondary educated but told me that he shown them his bank statment, a FD of SGD 200,000 for more than 3yr. His house is fully paid and his business is doing well. So, I guess they look at money & financial liability as well.
He even went to MP and MP write in for him.
He tell MP that if ICA do not approve, he will shift his business elsewhere, creating unemployment for singaporean ....(dun kno if true or not.)
I think that if you and your wife had a clean criminal record, strong financial, low liability & good employment status, good eductional record (especially where expertise are needed), able to contribute to the economy, .... things are much easier.
If NOT, get your gf to study in Poly/NUS.
Upon graduation, she get PR as well.
Getting your gf to work here before marry is not advisable.
You had additional barrier to overcome - MOM....
