Yup, foreigner gave birth here is about $1.5k more expensive than local and PR.
My point here is, having a LTSVP compare to a PR makes a little difference.
Difference
1. LTSVP has to be renew upon expiry
2. PR Status looks better of course
3. Consession on housing and medical with PR
4. Easier to get a job with PR status
5. A stepping stone for your gal, in case she jumps ship.
