Yes Padi Mas is a very old hotel and its located abit outside of the town. however it has a nice shopping centre nearby and as usual lots of food stalls and a sort of a hawker centre nearby too. Theres a good Bak Kut Teh stall nearby too...only sells in the morning tho if i remember correctly.
Padi Mas has also got its dark side...ghost stories abound about the 7th floor female ghost etc. For those bros who are long time cheongers in Balai i m sure you will have heard about these stories. For me, 10 years in Balai chionging i have been giving Padi Mas a miss because of all these Dark Side stories.
Anyway its only hear say so true or not i leave it to bros here to make their own judgement call.
