How these gals are viewed will actually depend on a lot on the level of society these gals come from.
(1) Normal village gals (including WL) - marrying a foreigner is good news and these gals will be viewed as having to move to a higher class. These gals are deemed to be financially more stable than their peers from the village. At the same time, their family back in Village will also be more respected with a foreigner son-in-law
(2) Middle income from city - marrying a foreigner doesn't make much difference to their families but will give the gal a good chance to stay overseas. These middle income gals are normally better educated and can speak english. They have more of their own thinking and marriage is surely not something that is largely related to financial reasons
(3) rich - very much similar to (2)
(4) rich and powerful - these are a totally different breed. These rich and powerful ladies are normally daughters of high ranking government officers. These gals may like foreigners but their families are normally against them marrying foreigners as they do not want others to gossip that they need foreigners support financially. These breed are damm well off themselves.
