Just want to chime in on this topic: while most if not all ML are doing this for the money, they are not always in the 搬砖 （money-making) mode. They too want to have regular relationships, go for dates with potential partners, yearn for regular lifestyles, and have regular friends who care for them. Over the years of cheonging, I have made friends with a few MLs of good character. Often times, I visited them not just for the deed, but usually will follow up with meals/drinks. Even when some of them quit the scene, we remain as friends, kept in contact, and still do meet up once a while. They don’t ask me for money or requested for anything, in fact they do blanja me on several occasions too. One particular ML actually paynow me her portion of the bill almost every time we hang out. Nothing hanky panky, nothing transactional, no need to 买钟, just pure friendship.

My point is: nice people do exist in the ML scene. While I don’t recommend being in a relationship with MLs, I think some of them do make pretty awesome friends.
