You have all the time to settle and find out quickly that your activities on the first days were the least interesting ones!
I understand you are a western guy.
1) Try to learn some bahasa (search my past post with a reference to an excellent small book to learn the basics).
2) Explore off path massage places. HK and Octopus are no hassle, but also no thrill for unexpected (failures and treasures).
3) I do not recommend you the booking option. I did it a couple of times, but what to do with this girl in the room after the first bonk? Language barrier and lack of mutual interest make it a very boring experience.
4) Strictly avoid the online apps until you are very experienced and armored. You will be cheated 99% probability.
5) Explore night life! The best for a Western guy. Start with beers and billiard in kampung bule (the worst option, but nice to kill time on your lonely evenings after dinner), then move to more expensive clubs with live music on the weekends (F1, Square, Dragon, Harbour Bay...). You might meet the girl of your life. Beware that taking a working girl to your hotel from there will cost you 2, 3, 4 times than in Hallo Kitty. A non working girl will expect some gift from you the morning after anyway. Be generous (minimum 1M for an office lady) but do not give her the impression you are paying a working lady, unless she really is, occasionally or not.
6) Avoid disco (Pacific, Newton, H3), at least until the times you will be expert and master of the local environment. I always go there, as you may have read in my past posts, but I have been going to Batam for 15 years already.
7) Use ojek to move around, or Grab for cars.
8) Never overplan. Follow the wind.
