When I was working in Taiwan, a local gal told me her Mum's advise:
宁愿嫁浪子，不好嫁书生。
Translated to English:
Rather married to a gangster / cheongster than married to a studious, or guai guai guy. Reasons quoted are similar to your post.
A gangster, after those days of fighting, will eventually get sick of it, and appreciate much more the stable life of settling down. Also, gangsters tend to fark around more, seen more, been there, done that with sex & flings, not many things are that new to him. So he's less likely to stray. The other reason is, being more experienced, the gangster is likely better in bedding skills too.
