It depends on you and the amount...
If you are earning $1k plus every month, and she is asking for $3-5K, dun you think it will be hell to you and of course dun say if it is not real and you kana cheated, then it will be real pain to you.
but if you are earning $20-30K every month, and she is asking for $3-5K, then you should use another method again, saying that you are not earning so much and do not have so much savings. But can only give $2-3K at the moment, since receive your next pay, then give her another $1k. In this way, to you, it would be peanuts to pay, but in her view, you are quite a nice guy, but also might be only a small carrot for her to chop on.. But even lost, also that a bit only.. Just try lor if you have the spare cash and the amount is minimal..
