A lot of times, Vietnamese police are not really efficient and they do jobs quite poorly. There are some bad eggs who take bribes before they will agree to do jobs. For those who report robbery / thieves, police is not likely to do anything about it.

My friend and I are those sort of superstitious type. We know that that the hotel is different from our NW hotel but with the same name, we rather not take a chance. 
Just a piece of advice for those who intend to go and have nvr gone to HCM before. Nvr bring a sling bag walking down the streets there, no matter how secure you think the sling of your bag is. You are an easy target for motorcycle robbers. In fact don't bring any bag. My friend just got robbed the last time we were there.
And no point going to the police station. Sorry to any VN friends here but I think their police is totally inept. |
