Bros! I'm gonna be in HK-Korea-Taiwan for two week long business trip, then going to use my accumulated leave to one shot blow 1 month in China in June.
My intention is hit to hit CP, CN, Zuhai, Suzhou, Shenzhen. Do you think this is doable? Any cities I have missed? I don't want to include Shanghai and Beijing because I get sent there frequently.
I'm not going to ask recommendations for hotels/locations as all made clear in the respective threads (I think I spent 6-8hrs reading all these threads....) and I know some bros get upset with laziness, but just want to check in with you bros what a good itinerary might be. As in which cities to hit first. I was thinking going to Shenzhen from HK first, then, branch out to Dongguan to hit CP / CA since so close, then head out to Zhuhai, maybe drop by Macau (although I have no interest in gambling), then head back into China to see GZ. I have dual entry visa. If still got time, then can take a plane to North side, hit Shenyang and Dalian...
I've budgeted around SGD15-20K for all expenses (food, accomodations, cheong). Do you think enough or too much? It would translate to maybe S650/day. Although I will rest some days of course. I'm not superman and can cheong 30 days in a row. If anyone in China wanna meet up in June, that's cool. I'll be happy to buy dinner or maybe spring for ktv expense. No matter how much I read the threads, it still won't beat an actual lao jiao showing me where is best.
I'm also thinking about asking a girl I know in Guangzhou to accompany me. She's a friend and we have special arrangement whereby she's companionship, but she also turn blind eye when I pick other girl for fun. Very like friends with benefits. Don't get jealous as I made crystal clear from beginning I'm just having fun and no need for drama. However, this will take away around SGD2k to give as a hong bao and additional food/hotel expense especially if I book another hotel room when I wanna have some other fun...
Might stretch my budget abit...
I know its a bit much, but for a month must give her some compensation to drop everything and she's kinda like an accustomed friend (yeah I know money is the bottom-line but who care... I don't mind and she's actually quite a crazy funny girl...) Known her for 2+ years already...
Also, kinda dual purpose trip. One is to cheong at night, and one is to see how China actually is. I'm not going to go to all those touristy places, but rather want to see what working life is like in China. I thought it was insane in Shenzhen to go into big malls where the average shirt is RMB800, and Gucci/Prada are full price, and 5 mins away from the shopping center is a "chun" (village) where few things are priced above 30RMB and incomes rarely exceed 1000RMB/month....
So for those who actually work in China, would love to meet you guys also and talk about life there. Those who don't have jobs or now retired with Mei Meis also I'm very interested in meeting as you probably have a very good on the ground look.
