UNITED BID FOR DI MARIA

Talk to Manchester United fans about who they think Alex Ferguson should buy in January, and you'll probably come away with a list for a whole new team.

Some think a new keeper is needed, some a bit of defensive cover, some a creative midfielder, some a new striker or two.

However, The Gossip Column reckons they could really do with a proper left winger, and if you believe The Daily Mail, they have made a move for one.

The paper reports that United have made a bid of £9million plus Nani for Benfica's Angel Di Maria.

Now, given that the papers were discussing figures of around £30million for Di Maria earlier in the year, does that mean that Fergie values Nani at £21million?
