Avatar breaks the $1 million revenue barrier in Vietnam

VietNamNet Bridge – With Avatar fever showing no signs of cooling, the 3D blockbuster is already a Vietnamese record breaker.

Avatar has become the first movie to hit the revenue $1 million mark in Vietnam and the figure is still rising. MegaStar, the distributor of Avatar in Vietnam, expects the film to have the highest revenue in the history of the local movie market.

Since Avatar came to Vietnam on December 18, 2009, tickets for all 3D shows have been sold out. MegaStar has added one more show at 7.30pm everyday but it cannot satisfy the audience’s demand.

To celebrate this record, MegaStar will open all its cinemas for free on January 28 for audience members who have kept their ticket counterfoils. The offer excludes 3D shows.
