As for getting back - rule: DONT PICK A CAB IN THE LINE UP- they are all touts - better to hang out, have a smoke and when you see a passing cab, wave it and get in. The taxis lining up are those who are trying to scam / take a long route, or try to negotiate .. well, 500 peso is just 16 $ or so but why bother ? I would rather take a passing taxi, meter it and add a 50 peso or so ..
