The Vietnamese rever huge turtles that live in a murky lake in Hanoi. The turtles can grow more than one metre in length. They think the turtles are magical. A legendary huge turtle helped the Vietnamese long ago in history. Their hero returned a sword that he used to defend Vietnam against their northern invaders, read ancient China; which the huge turtle carried on its back underwater into the said lake. Can I say that I should never order soft shelled fresh water turtle for dinner with any Vietnamese? Soft shelled fresh water turtles sold in food centres in Singapore look remarkably like miniature versions of the huge Vietnamese turtles.

Since China attacked Vietnam a few times in history, do Vietnamese people have a love-hate attitude towards Singaporean Chinese people? They are hard-up for SGP $$$$, but they equate us to PRC people? Just that Singaporeans are easier to sweet talk to to 'suck' SGP $$$$ from us?
