Yah, me too got to some comedy bar in QC (Music box) and the saving grace is the bakla knows me .. in his former adventure in Singapore (no, not the funny one, but clean one .. )
And knowing him saved the headache of me being the butt end of jokes .. as I know it happens very comfortably . even in the filipino shows in Arena here, the foreigners are the butt end of jokes, and sometimes, if not most time, it is very crude and rude ..
remember the recent furore of an American girl calling filipinos stupid ? it was not without reason: she was invited for a TV show, and the show was all in Tagalog, and the girl had been left amused wondering if the talk was about her, or degrading / belittling her... and if I was in her shoes I too will wonder why they invite me for a talgish show, and secondly, when the crowd laughs when the MC/Comedian is pointing to you .. unless you have a good companion to translate, it is not funnny at all
Unless I have good company, who will quitely tell me ''let's get out .. ' I don't venture into such crappy places .. Filipinos, as good and hospitable they are, can also make you the extreme crude and rude butt end of jokes, and most can be extremely rude and nerve wracking, if you know the content ..
Oh alexey: I did a couple of visits to AF1, with my filipino friends. The price was always a turn off .. for that kind of money, I can spend a few days in in AC inlcuding hotel stay ..
I know I am cheap charlie (though I know who can stretch a 14,000 peso to a week .. )
And I always ask myself, will I pay the same for a filipina in Singapore. If the answer is NO, I walk away .. unless I am a really sex starved, I wouldn't fancy throwing that kind of $ to a girl in Philippines
And 14,000, for a bit of work, can also get you a nice girl, (oh, you need to do some 'groundwork') a girl who can spend more than a couple of days with you, and non-stop xxx
That's what I got in some of my trips, when I had time to 'prepare' and not call on my existing contacts.
one trip, ended up with a nursing student, who was terrified of being spotted by her classmates, but spent 3 days with me, for 15,000 peso (oh, she didn't want any gift or anything, just her tution fee ..)
Another, ended up wth a girl, who was singing in a star hotel, and driving her own car . who just was happy being with me, but a deal is a deal. ..
No, not to rain in your parade, but, 300$ or 400$ will get a equivalent pinay in Singapore, for all night ..
why spend the same in the 'country of origin' ?
