Yes, F-14 is a good aircraft with swing-wings, it is still the best after the F-111. The Tomcat is best for Carrier Based Operations, and it is also too big for Singapore, in addition to its old age. There is an old problem with the stability of F-14. When it goes into a Spiral mode for whatever reason, the spine is usually unrecoverable (You can see it in the show Top Gun).
