The bad thing in PH, unlike kidnap/ransom/robbery in other countries is, the fellows send a 9 mil up your brain, just for the fun of it .. even kidnap victim whose ransom is paid, rarely end up release. Only live release happen if you get kidnap in Mindanao (oh, well, if you are not sacrificed .. then yuo get to live .. ) Manila, even for trivial stuff, the common problem resolution is to open fire ..

Even last week, one call center fellow robbed, and stabbed and thrown out of the bus just for 1 mobile phone and 15,000 peso cash (which the robbers may or may not have known)

Oh, well, that's one of the reason I don't fancy money changers ? Always there are a dozen guys watching money changer like hawk .. you don't have to be sherlock to know 'guy going to money changer' = 'coming out with cash !!!' = 'chance of a quick robbery .. '

I prefer to pay more and use card, and to withdraw in ATM, in Manila, or head to mall with money changer, to change.
